About Fulhadhoo

Known for its 1.2-kilometer stretch of uninterrupted beach, Fulhadhoo is one of the most scenic islands in the Goidhoo region. The island covers 14.1 hectares and is inhabited by around 240 people. However it has a registered population of 391 people. It features wide lagoons, rich coral systems, and seagrass beds that attract dugongs and stingrays. While there are no mangroves, the interior hosts tropical plants and palm groves. Fishing and small-scale tourism are the main livelihoods, supported by 5 guesthouses. A school, mosque, and health post serve the community. Fulhadhoo’s remote charm and ecological richness offer a peaceful retreat for eco-conscious visitors.
