About Akirifushi
Akirifushi is a small island in Kaafu Atoll, Maldives, located at approximately 4.637° N, 73.403° E, with a land area of about 7.97 hectares. Situated within a typical reef system of the central Maldives, the island is surrounded by a lagoon and fringing coral reefs that support diverse marine life, including reef fish, hard corals, and invertebrates. Coastal vegetation, including salt-tolerant shrubs and palms, helps stabilize the shoreline. The island currently hosts a resort, so it features permanent infrastructure alongside its natural environment.
