About Maradhoo
Maradhoo is one of the islands connected by the Addu Link Road and lies between Feydhoo and Maradhoofeydhoo. It has a registered population of approximately 3,782 residents and is located in Addu City. Though smaller than some neighboring islands, Maradhoo has grown into a residential and commercial hub with various shops, cafes, and public services.
Its strategic location made it significant during the British Royal Air Force presence in Gan, and many residents were employed in support roles. Like other islands in the region, Maradhoo played a part in the Suvadive movement, and some historical narratives from this period remain preserved in oral accounts.
Today, Maradhoo contributes to the economic life of Addu through small businesses and public sector employment. It features a strong local identity and maintains close social and infrastructural ties with adjacent islands
