About Kodhipparu

Kohdhipparufinolhu, also known as Kodhipparu, is a small island in Kaafu Atoll with a land area of approximately 1 hectare and a surrounding reef and lagoon area of 2.7 hectares. It lies close to Thulusdhoo, the nearest inhabited island, separated only by a short channel. This proximity suggests that people from Thulusdhoo may have traditionally used the island for fishing or short stopovers.

Kohdhipparufinolhu was uninhabited in the past and has since been developed into a resort. The island features a sandy coastline, low-lying vegetation, and a coral reef environment typical of islands in this part of the Maldives. These natural features are part of a wider reef system that supports a variety of marine life, including species important to local fisheries.
Although the island is now privately managed, its physical and ecological setting continues to reflect the coastal and reef characteristics shared by nearby islands like Thulusdhoo.
