Discover the gentle rhythm of island life with Say It in Dhivehi—a pocket companion to help you greet, share, and connect through simple everyday words in the Maldives. A few small phrases can open meaningful moments: a hello, a thank you, a smile shared across languages. A little guide to carry a little closer to the heart of the islands

They call the Maldives the Flower of the Indies—a scattered world of sunlit atolls, turquoise lagoons, and quiet island life shaped by sea and memory.

“Say It in Dhivehi” is a small pocket language companion created to help you connect through simple, everyday words. It won’t make you fluent—but it will help you speak with people in small, meaningful ways: say hello, ask for tea, thank someone properly, and feel a little closer to daily life here.

This is a guide made for real moments, not perfect language. Alongside the printed version, the guide is also designed to grow online through Malamathi.org. For now, it remains a simple companion, but over time, as resources allow, it may expand with audio, visual explanations, and other ways of making the language more alive and accessible.

Your suggested contribution of USD  $5 (or equivalent MVR) helps keep this work going, supporting the creation, refinement, and future expansion of the guide into richer forms as the project grows.
